Andreas Hopkins spent years chasing a sound that wasn't his. In early 2022, he walked away from a promising career in a completely different scene because it lacked the authenticity he craved. He spent the next two years in self-imposed isolation, teaching himself guitar, bass, and keys while building a massive backlog of songs that finally reflected his true identity.

The System Dreams of You officially launched in September 2025 and immediately caught fire. In just over three months, the music went viral on social media gaining nearly 7 thousand followers on TikTok in the projects first 3 release cycles and began earning local radio play. As the digital following grew, so did the demand for a live experience, leading Andreas to transition the project from a solo studio mission into a full five-piece band.

Now joined by CJ Johnson on bass, Sean Guerrero on guitar, Steven Potier on key-tar and synth, and Jared Deluccia on drums, the project has entered a new chapter. While it began with one person’s vision, the band now writes and creates as a collective to push the music much further than a solo artist could go alone.

Their sound is a wide-reaching mix of influences, shifting between darkwave, industrial metal, and post-punk. Even as they experiment with everything from surf goth to heavy gothic doom and grunge, there is a consistent mood that holds everything together. They have taken the grit of the 80s underground and turned it into a modern, high-energy live show that refuses to stay in one lane.
